Almost every loudspeaker blasts these songs for all the prominent occasions imaginable. The greatest appeal of the Bollywood songs is generally to the youth and to the lower classes. The birth of the hindi songs can be traced back to the advent of India’s first sound motion picture. This movie was shot in 1931. This talkie was entitled “Alam Ara”. This movie heralded in a new era in the scene of the Bollywood movies.

The early years of the Bollywood songs industry were very fruitful. Between the years 1931 and 1940 India produced 931 Bollywood movies. Each of these movies featured an average of 10 hindi songs per films.

Therefore this period was naturally very notable for a number of major Bollywood songs artists. Music directors such as Pankaj Mullick, Keshavrao Bhole, and Anil Biswas are a few of the talented artists who are the first to come to the mind.

In the 1940s and the 1950s a large number of notable playback singers also came to prominence. Some of the most famous singers of the Bollywood songs are Lata Mangeshkar, Hemant Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Geeta Dutt, and Asha Bhosle.
